Bannu Gul - A short Introduction

Bannu is a historic district located in the south of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The district is known for its rich cultural heritage and history and is home to a diverse population with a mix of different Pashtun tribes and others. River Kurram Bridge  The history of Bannu dates back to ancient times, with concrete evidence of human settlements in the area of Akra mounds dating back to atleast 300BC. Throughout its history, the district has been a strategically important location due to its proximity to the Tochi Pass, which served as a trade route between Central Asia and the Indian subcontinent. Akra Mounds, the ancient capital of Bannu Much of it's medieval history is blank but during the Mughal and Durrani era, Bannu was ruled by various local chiefs who maintained their autonomy under their suzerainty. In the 19th century, the district was brought under British colonial rule and became a military base for military operations during the Anglo-Afghan Wars. Malik Da
